Ix is a fictional planet featured in the Dune universe
created by Frank Herbert.
Ix specializes in the production of complex machinery
which often flouts the proscriptions of the Butlerian Jihad:

JIHAD, BUTLERIAN: (see also Great Revolt)
— the crusade against computers, thinking machines, and conscious robots.
Its chief commandment remains in the O.C. Bible as:
"Thou shalt not make a machine in the likeness of a human mind."

Ix's has many competitors,
but always maintains a healthy lead in technology.
